With just days to go, the Crowdfunder for saving the Hythe Ferry made its target this week. An excellent community effort has ensured this valuable service from the New Forest side of Southampton Water across to Southampton itself has been saved.
To date, sales of A Seal Swam In From The Sea have contributed £5.5K towards the Crowdfunding total, with more money yet to be collected in, and copies still selling.
A huge thank you to the local shops that have assisted in getting the books out there, including Toys Ahoy, The Herald, The Ferry Ticket Office, WHSmith Local, Compuco, Sandra's Florist, Oyster Financial Planning, Mockingjays and Blissful, and not forgetting Helen Hughson for her efforts. Also, thank you to everyone that has purchased a copy directly from Ceratopia Books, either through the website or at the various signings.
It's not all over yet. We've got a few more books to sell, and the ferry isn't completely out of the woods yet following our pandemic year, so we'll continue with our pledge to pass on £5 of every book sale until they're all gone.
There will be another signing at Hythe Pier on Saturday 3rd July, at Hythe of Activity on 7th August, and at the Fawley Show later in the year, or you can get a copy through all the other routes mentioned above.
Thank you for all the kind words about the book, and for supporting both the book and the ferry in the way that you have. A truly amazing community achievement.
