For the last nine months I’ve been one of the two writers on the Short Stories For Kids podcast, and it’s been an absolutely fabulous experience.

 

Each week children suggest ideas for stories, then myself and the other writer take two ideas apiece and work them up into stories. The fabulous Lucy then reads the tales and they’re put out, one per episode, during the following week.

 

The podcast’s popularity has just grown and grown, with listeners piling in from all over the world. For some children it’s what they listen to before bed, but it seems by far the most common way of listening is on car journeys – and because of it we seem to be a massive hit with parents too.

 

Because it’s all going rather well we decided to collect my first 36 stories, as well as two from Lucy, into a paperback book. As we’ve a global audience the book is only available through Amazon as they offer a print-on-demand service, meaning we can reach people all over the planet without people incurring knee-trembling postage costs.
