Waste is a monster problem.
But what would you do if a giant monster made from waste walked past your garden demanding to be fed?
Discover a tale of friendship and waste prevention in this colourful rhyming picture book packed full of detail that we can all learn something from.
Supported by a grant from Hampshire County Council, The Rubbish Monster Thing explores the perils of the human habit of generating waste. When Elsie finds a huge monster made of waste demanding more rubbish to feed upon she explains that her family doesn't really have any. Confused, the monster is then taken through the various waste reducing steps Elsie's family carry out, and at each stage is invited to participate too, resulting in a monster who is not quite so monsterous after all.
An excellent educational resource in its own right, the Rubbish Monster Thing is also a captivating fun read, with lots to look at and plenty to enjoy. There's something here that we all can learn from.
